Status Update
Here we are, four years after my last post.
I started this blog in 2019 with big expectations for it, perhaps too big. After a few disparate posts, self-imposed pressure, laziness, insecurity, and a relentless work schedule got the better of me, and I shelved the project.
Here we are, four years after my last post. Much of what I wrote in my original posting still applies to my life, but I have made progress. I’ve changed jobs, worked on myself a bit, and I’m continuing to do so. I’m learning day by day the merits of attempting to live intentionally and purposefully, but not to blow up the ship the minute I take a misstep. I’m working towards a career in IT, but I don’t want to abandon writing entirely.
I’m unsure of how much I’ll be able to commit to this blog, or exactly what form it will take over time, but I have some ideas. I’ve made a few small navigation changes to the blog. The main bar now has a “Music” tab to only show my music reviews. As I’ll detail below, a “Gaming” tab will also be added soon. Depending on how this goes, more categories may be added in the future.
Over the past year I’ve been working on getting to the things I’ve needed or wanted to do, but put off for one reason or another, like it not being the right time or the proper alignment of the planets. These include important things like finally finishing my degree and starting my IT certs, but also extend to my hobbies and interests. One thing I’ve been meaning to do for a long while now, is a sequential, “canon” run of the entire Elder Scrolls series. These games have been as formative to me as they have to many others, and I’ll be one of the sea of voices online talking about them, but this will be quite the journey, one I’ll find value in documenting and maybe others will as well. I dub this project “Tamriel Eternal,” and if all goes well, it will be the focus of my posts for the near future. Other topics will come if I have time and interest. In the meantime, keep your eyes open.
